What It Is: Transcription essentially involves you listening to audio files and typing out what you hear. Easy enough, right? Companies usually hire transcriptionists without much experience, so some job postings might only require you to have a computer and keyboard to get started. Transcription jobs can vary from transcribing a college lecture to a doctor's medical dictation, while most companies allow you to make your own schedule. Work From Home Careers

Telehealth had been growing in popularity before the coronavirus hit the U.S. and has gotten an extra boost in demand as the health care system has been inundated with COVID-19 patients. Some employers are looking to hire full-time telehealth nurses to answer questions specifically about COVID-19 and help manage the current health care crisis from the safety of their own homes. Other opportunities are available for part-timers. Just be sure to check on licensing requirements. For example, the telemedicine nurse practitioner position with Forward requires a license in California, New York or Washington, D.C. (Bonus points for applicants licensed to practice in more than one of those places.)

Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak has ravaged the U.S. job market and dimmed the prospects for Americans to stay employed in retirement. A stunning 41 million people have filed for unemployment benefits since the global pandemic was declared a national emergency in March. Add the fact that the risk of suffering the worst COVID-19 outcomes rises with age and it's easy to understand why retirees can expect big challenges in seeking part-time work right now. To help you find a good part-time work-from-home role, we started by identifying the most common part-time jobs held by workers over age 55, based on data collected by compensation research firm PayScale. Then, with the help of FlexJobs, an online job market specializing in flexible and remote work, we sifted through the list for positions that can be done remotely and are available now. (Note: FlexJobs charges users a fee to view its full job postings.) Bonus: A few of these occupations score highly among workers in terms of satisfaction and meaningfulness.

Many sites require a microphone and/or webcam, which are built into most laptops—but if you need to buy one, they aren't expensive. The tester sites typically pay within a week or two via PayPal. What It Is: Many companies pay online testers to make sure websites are intuitive and easy to navigate. "You basically follow the instructions you're given to check out the website," says Anna Thurman, founder of RealWaysToEarnMoneyOnline.com, a site that has reviewed more than 500 online work opportunities. "It usually only takes about 15 minutes per test." Thurman recommends registering with 10 to 12 different companies since the opportunities to test these sites are doled out first come, first served. "There are people who make $100 to $200 a month by staying on top of those tests," Thurman says.
The coronavirus affected jobs across many industries, with many nonessential positions eliminated; earlier this month, the unemployment rate in the US was 4.8 million. Fortunately, many in the tech industry were able to transition with more ease than most. Despite 25 million Americans receiving the $600 unemployment rate boost and stimulus checks, relief courtesy of the government may come to a screeching halt, as the federal CARES act is about to expire.
If you have experience and knowledge in a specific area, then consider sharing it with others. For example, if you’re an accountant or lawyer, then you can provide advice to small businesses for a pretty penny. You could also consult businesses on how to use a new software program or how to become more environmentally friendly. (If you're interested, my company offers a consulting guide to get started.) •The website has no contact information. A legitimate business has a way for you to reach them. Look for an "About" page that offers information on the company or CEO, along with a phone number, address, or contact email. (Try calling the number to see if anyone answers.) A website with only a contact form and no other way to get in touch with an actual human is suspicious. Work From Home Jobs

What advice do you have for someone like me who would mostly be available during evenings to make some decent money working from home? I appreciate anything you think will help, thank you!
